ABOUT ME
My undergraduate work was in Biology and Chemistry and I worked in various types of labs for 4 years after graduation before finally admitting that I don't really like lab work. Then I pursued teacher certification in secondary science. I loved teaching, working at the intersection of people and ideas, helping people to understand complex concepts....but I finally had to admit to myself that I am not great at insisting that people behave as you must to get along well in the high school environment. I want to get straight to the content without hassling people about their behavior. Now I work in a public library, at the intersection of people and ideas. I help people with reader's advisory, research, and technology without being responsible for their behavior and I love it! I have just completed my MLIS at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro so that I can be more effective at helping people find what they need at their library.
